TOFW

This past weekend my eldest sister & I went to, Time Out for Women, and it was such a good time! We got to Seattle Friday evening, checked into the Fairmont Hotel, which was BEAUTIFUL, went to the Friday session & then to dinner @ The Cheesecake Factory which was Yummy! We had plans to go back to our Hotel, have a wonderful little spa night but we both bailed cuz we were exhausted...oh well! The next morn we got up at the butt-crack of dawn, got ready, went to Saturdays session, ate lunch at Wild Ginger- which is a really good Thai place, we went back finished the last part, & then went home! It was such a fun & uplifting experience! I would suggest every women try to go at some point! heres some pics...

So glad I got to go w/my sister & share this experience together!

One quote that DeAnne Flynn said during her talk really stuck with me:

“I’ve come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element [in my home]. It is my personal approach that creates the climate. It’s my daily mood that makes the weather. As a teacher [a mother, grandmother], I possess a tremendous power to make a child’s life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis will be escalated or de-escalated . . . and a child humanized or de-humanized.
                                                                                    Goethe-  German philosopher
It made me realize as women how much of an impact & influence we have on our home and families! I want my home to feel peaceful and to be a safe- haven from the sometimes crazy & chaotic world! I'm gonna try harder to make sure i'm a better example to my children and keeper of my home!

That's a good quote. Totally true. If Addie is super grumpy, I just have to take a step back and remember...oh yeah, I was grumpy first, that's why she's grumpy:)

That sounds like fun! I went to TOFW as a teenager with Wendy in Texas and we had a good time. I got to again last with a friend from church. It's nice to go every few years. I'm sorry John Bytheway wasn't at the sessions we attended...he's one of my favorite church speakers. Of course Sister Time is just great anyway--whatever you're doing.
